Nigeria Volleyball Federation Names New National Coaches Across All Levels
The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has officially announced the appointment of national coaches for the Senior Men, Senior Women, Under-19 Boys, Under-19 Girls, Under-17 Boys, Under-17 Girls, and Beach Volleyball teams.
The appointments follow a rigorous process of selection, screening, and approval designed to ensure the highest standards of technical expertise and leadership for Nigeria’s volleyball programs.
According to the Federation, the move reflects its commitment to strengthening the technical development of volleyball in Nigeria and preparing the country’s teams for upcoming regional, continental, and international competitions.
For the senior men’s team, Coach Taiwo Oladipupo has been named Head Coach, supported by Coach Twevini Yohanna as Assistant Coach and Setters Coach, and Coach Jonah Adamu as Offensive Coordinator.
The senior women’s team will be led by Coach Elam Elishama, with Coach Segun Abinde serving as Offensive Coordinator and Coach Sunday Yunana Akapson as Setters Trainer.
At the youth level, Coach Adamu Nite will head the Under-19 Boys team, assisted by Coach Ayo Aboderin and Coach Philip Stephen. The Under-19 Girls will be guided by Coach Vincent Unogwu, with support from Coach Bukola Faremi and Coach Chinyere Onuoha.
For the Under-17 Girls, Coach Sunday Yunana Akapson takes charge, assisted by Coach Jessica Egwuna and Coach Kinsley Alika. The Under-17 Boys will be led by Coach Suleiman Ajeigbe, alongside Coach Ibrahim Adamu and Coach Osas Omoruyi.
Beach volleyball also received fresh appointments, with Coach Kayode and Coach Felicia Amos taking charge of the women’s team, while Coach John Iwerima and Coach Jonathan Thaj will oversee the men’s squad.
The NVBF congratulated all the newly appointed coaches and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute significantly to the growth and success of volleyball in Nigeria.
The Federation emphasized that the coaches are expected to bring their wealth of experience, professionalism, and technical expertise to bear as they guide the national teams toward excellence on the continental and global stages.
Reaffirming its vision, the NVBF stated that it remains committed to building a robust talent development pathway and fostering a culture of excellence that will enhance Nigeria’s competitiveness in both indoor and beach volleyball.
