Ofili seeking to complete SEC Outdoor Championships sprint double again

Nigeria’s 200m indoor (22.11) and outdoor (21.96) record holder, Favour Ofili will be seeking to successfully complete a sprint double at the 2023 SEC
Outdoor Championships for the second straight year after qualifying for the finals of both events.

The 20 year old ran 11.35 to qualify as one of the non-automatic qualifiers in the 100m and ran the fastest qualifying time of 22.58 to storm into the 200m
final.

The Nigerian successfully completed the sprint double last year, running a 10.93 lifetime best in the 100m and 22.04 in the 200m to edge Aby Steiner to the
sprint titles.

Ofili has not been as phenomenal this outdoor season as she was last year as she just returned to the track at the end of April after over a month out
ostensibly due to injury. She ran 11.28 over the 100m in her first outdoor race of the season.

The Commonwealth Games 200m silver medalist looks however the cast iron certainty to win the 200m event for the second time in three years.
