Omojuwa Foundation Partners Lagos Sports Commission on Grassroots Football
Donates Eco-Friendly Boots to Young Athletes

The grassroots football development programme of the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) has received a major boost with the support of the JJ Omojuwa Foundation.
Founder of the foundation, Mr. Japhet Omojuwa, visited Teslim Balogun Stadium and the office of the Director-General of LSSC to announce the donation of eco-friendly football boots.
These will be distributed to talented children identified across communities participating in the state’s grassroots football initiative.
Omojuwa explained that the gesture is aimed at breaking down barriers faced by gifted athletes from disadvantaged backgrounds by improving access to essential playing equipment and facilities.
Director-General of LSSC, Mr. Lekan Fatodu, commended the partnership, stressing that such collaborations reinforce government efforts to nurture talent from the grassroots.
‘We are building a system where talent is identified early, supported with the right resources, and guided through a structured pathway. Support like this helps us reach communities more effectively and ensures that promising athletes are not excluded due to economic limitations,’ he said.
Fatodu added that the Commission’s focus is on creating continuity from grassroots discovery to elite performance, with private sector involvement playing a vital role in achieving this vision.
