Orban Moves Clear Of Osimhen In Turkish Super Lig Scoring Race

Amed Striker Becomes First Player To Reach 10 Goals Despite 4-3 Defeat At Galatasaray

Gift Orban has moved clear of compatriot Victor Osimhen in the Turkish Super Lig scoring race after becoming the first player to reach double figures this season.

The Amed Sportif forward scored once in Sunday’s thrilling 4-3 defeat to Galatasaray, taking his tally to 10 goals in 11 league appearances.

Orban’s latest strike puts him ahead of Osimhen, who was absent from the encounter following his injury and successful surgery.

The Nigerian striker had been among the leading scorers before the latest round of matches, but Orban has now established himself as the outright leader with 10 goals.

Galatasaray took control of the contest through Rafael Leão’s seventh-minute opener before Alban Lafont doubled their advantage on the stroke of half-time.

Rayan Raveloson reduced the deficit five minutes after the restart, but Roland Sallai restored Galatasaray’s two-goal cushion in the 59th minute.

Orban struck two minutes later, while Dia Saba made it 3-2 in the 62nd minute. The visitors continued to threaten, but Barış Alper Yılmaz scored Galatasaray’s fourth in the 80th minute after an assist from Gabriel Sara.

Yira Sor pulled another goal back in stoppage time, but Galatasaray held on to claim all three points.
