Oshoala Fires Al Hilal into Saudi Women’s Cup Final

Asisat Oshoala delivered another masterclass on Thursday night, scoring a stunning hat-trick to propel Al Hilal Women into the Saudi Women’s Cup final with a commanding 5-1 victory over Al Qadsiah Women, sealing a 7-2 aggregate triumph.

The six-time African Player of the Year struck twice in the first half and completed her treble after the break, while also winning a late penalty that capped off a dominant attacking display.

Ghizlane Chebbak converted from the spot in stoppage time to complete the rout.

Oshoala has now registered 23 goals and six assists in all competitions this season, scoring in four consecutive matches and contributing in each of her last six. Her blistering form has mirrored her exploits in Europe, now replicated in Saudi Arabia.

Oshoala opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a brilliant strike from outside the box after being set up by Kheira Hamraoui. Just two minutes later, Jéssica Silva doubled the lead with a clinical finish from Al Bandari Mobarak’s through ball.

Al Qadsiah briefly threatened when Ajara Nchout pulled one back in the 42nd minute, but Oshoala restored the cushion almost immediately, finishing off another fast break to make it 3-1 before half-time.

She completed her hat-trick in the 73rd minute with a composed finish from the left side of the box, again assisted by Mobarak.

Al Hilal will now face either Al Ula Women or Al Nassr Women in the final, as they continue their pursuit of silverware this season.
