Osimhen: I am Going Through One of The Most Beautiful Periods of My Career

Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has declared his love for the club, describing his journey as a blessing from God after helping secure a second consecutive Süper Lig title.

The Nigerian striker, who scored 15 goals this season to play a pivotal role in Galatasaray’s fourth straight championship, spoke to the club’s official YouTube channel about his happiness and pride.

‘I feel very good. Everything is going great right now. I am going through one of the most beautiful periods of my career. We won the cups by deserving them to the fullest. I enjoy it very much and I am very happy,’ he said.

Osimhen praised head coach Okan Buruk, calling him one of the best in Turkish football history alongside Fatih Terim.

He highlighted Buruk’s humility and belief in his players, noting: ‘He is not egoistic. He believes in his players. The way he speaks, leaving responsibility to experienced players, is not something you come across easily in this age. He is a great person. I am very pleased with my teacher.’

Looking ahead, Osimhen acknowledged the challenges of defending the title next season: ‘Next season will be much more difficult. Because now everyone will want to beat Galatasaray. We will continue to work harder and fight harder. We will do our best to win next season as well.’

The striker also expressed admiration for captain Mauro Icardi, recalling a moment of selflessness in a recent match: ‘When I saw Icardi pass instead of scoring himself, I said, ‘This is it! Here is my captain.’ He is a great footballer.’

Osimhen was visibly moved by a banner unveiled by fans ahead of the Liverpool game, which featured his family.

‘When I saw my daughter, my little self and my mother, my eyes filled with tears. Galatasaray fans gave a truly incredible moment. You understand that you are playing in a club built with love. God blessed me with Galatasaray. Galatasaray and Osimhen… you can say that God has written it in our destiny’

He also spoke warmly of his friendship with teammate Gabriel Sara, describing him as ‘like my brother’ and praising their bond both on and off the pitch.

Osimhen concluded by reaffirming his commitment to Galatasaray: ‘This place has a very different place compared to other clubs I have been to. I want to dedicate myself to this jersey every time I go on the field.’
