‘Osimhen Is One Of The Best Strikers In The World,’ Says VfB Stuttgart’s Mittelstädt

VfB Stuttgart defender Maximilian Mittelstädt has described Victor Osimhen as one of the best strikers in the world ahead of Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against Galatasaray in Istanbul.

Mittelstädt acknowledged the quality of the Nigerian forward and Galatasaray’s attacking department, warning that Stuttgart would face difficult moments when the two sides meet in their league-phase encounter.

‘We have prepared for Galatasaray and know that they are very good in defence on the one hand and have exceptional strikers at the same time. For example, Victor Osimhen, who is probably one of the best strikers in the world,’ Mittelstädt said.

‘It will probably not be possible to defend everything away against him and Galatasaray’s entire offensive department for over 90 minutes. We have to be prepared for the fact that we will have situations in which we will suffer and we will all have to defend together as a team.’

The Stuttgart defender added that his team would need collective discipline and a little luck to contain Galatasaray’s attacking threat.

‘But we know what kind of quality we have in the team and what is possible when we all stand together and everyone goes to their limit. We showed that recently against Leverkusen. This win gives us more confidence to deliver another good game on Tuesday,’ he added.
