Osimhen targets first goal Vs Roma, Mourinho in four games

Victor Osimhen will be seeking to score his first goal against a Jose Mourinho side when he leads Napoli against AS Roma in a Serie A game at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday.

Osimhen has featured thrice against Roma since he joined Napoli from French Ligue 1 side, Lille in 2020.

He started two of the games and was subbed on in one. He has neither scored nor bagged an assist and the 23 year old will be hoping to end his goal drought against Mourinho and Roma.

The Nigerian has not scored against any of the big teams in the Serie A and will be aiming to start with Roma.

He has fired blanks in three games respectively against Juventus and Inter Milan and in two games against AC Milan.

Osimhen has scored 27 goals in 57 appearances in the Serie A across two seasons and one goal on Sunday will make Nigeria’s joint second top scorer in the competition with Obafemi Martins.

Simy Nwankwo is the top scoring Nigerian in the Serie A with 31 goals in 101 games.
