Osimhen Wins Man Of The Match Award After Galatasaray Victory Over Lille
UEFA hails Nigerian striker's movement and attacking threat after another impressive European performance

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was named Player of the Match after scoring Galatasaray’s fourth goal in their UEFA Champions League victory over French side Lille on Wednesday night.
The Nigerian international produced another impressive centre-forward performance, tormenting the Lille defence with his movement, physical presence and attacking instincts as the Turkish champions secured an important European victory.
The UEFA Technical Observer Group praised Osimhen’s contribution, particularly his ability to create opportunities for his teammates through intelligent movement off the ball.
“Constant threat to the Lille defence. His movements off the ball to attack the space behind created space for his team-mates,” the observers said.
“Looked like he was going to score any time the ball came into the box and showed his class as a centre-forward throughout the entire game.”
Osimhen’s goal, Galatasaray’s fourth of the encounter, provided another demonstration of the Nigerian’s predatory instincts in front of goal.
Speaking to Turkish broadcaster TRT after receiving his award, the former Napoli striker expressed his delight with the result and his affection for Galatasaray’s home ground.
“I love this stadium a lot. We played a tough match. I’m very happy for our team and the victory. I wish Lille all the best too,” Osimhen said.
