Chelsea Face Man United, Liverpool Host Arsenal As Man City Take On Brighton

Football fans on DStv and GOtv are in for an action-packed weekend as two heavyweight Premier League encounters and the Milan derby headline a packed schedule of European football.

Chelsea host Manchester United in Saturday’s early kick-off at 1:30pm, with both sides desperate to bounce back from disappointing results.

Chelsea suffered a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham before exiting the Carabao Cup on penalties against Liverpool, while United are enduring an eight-match winless run across all competitions.

Sitting 16th with seven points from eight league matches, United desperately need a turnaround. The encounter, alongside all Premier League fixtures, will air live on SuperSport Premier League (DStv Channel 203, GOtv Channel 65).

At 4pm, Manchester City welcome third-placed Brighton in another intriguing contest. City suffered their first league defeat against Aston Villa last weekend but remain level on points with Arsenal. Pep Guardiola’s men also edged Brighton on penalties in the Carabao Cup this week.

Brighton, meanwhile, saw their four-match winning streak ended by a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool but remain third, one point ahead of the Reds. They will be eager to return to winning ways against the champions.

Saturday’s Premier League action continues at 6:30pm as Tottenham host Crystal Palace. Spurs will look to build on their victory over Chelsea, while Palace seek to recover from a 2-0 league defeat to Newcastle.

Aston Villa welcome Fulham at 9pm, hoping to maintain the momentum gained from their impressive victory over Manchester City. Fulham, who edged Coventry 1-0 in their last Premier League outing, will be determined to frustrate the hosts.

Sunday brings another blockbuster as Liverpool welcome Arsenal at 5:30pm in a crucial early-season test.

Liverpool have won their last two league matches, including their victory over Brighton, while Arsenal are chasing a fourth consecutive league win. The Gunners, however, will be keen to put their shock Carabao Cup exit to fourth-division Fleetwood Town behind them.

Beyond England, Italy’s biggest city rivalry takes centre stage on Saturday as AC Milan face Inter Milan in the Derby della Madonnina at 8:45pm.

Inter arrive as Serie A leaders following four consecutive victories, while fifth-placed Milan will be seeking redemption after suffering a 4-2 defeat to Bologna.

Sunday’s Italian programme features another heavyweight encounter as Juventus host Napoli at 8:45pm.

Both Serie A fixtures will be broadcast live on SuperSport Football (DStv Channel 205, GOtv Channel 61), giving subscribers another opportunity to enjoy top-level European football over the weekend.
