Saka: ‘It Is So Beautiful’ as Arsenal Reach Champions League Final

Bukayo Saka could barely contain his emotions after firing Arsenal into the Champions League final, describing the moment as ‘so beautiful’ and insisting the players and fans deserved to revel in the celebrations.

‘You’re taking me away from the celebrations, man! It is so beautiful. You see what it means to us and what it means to the fans,’ Saka told Amazon Prime after the semi-final victory.

‘This game was a high-pressure game. It means a lot to both sides. We managed to manage it well, and take ourselves to the final. Sometimes it bounces for you, and sometimes it doesn’t, but you have to be there, and I was there, I got my goal.’

The England international admitted the scrutiny surrounding Arsenal’s rise was inevitable but urged his teammates to block out the noise.

‘There is no way you are going to come to this position and not have pressure. How can you not expect people to talk about you and criticise you? That’s why we have got to block it out. It is a beautiful story and I hope it ends well in Budapest.’

Arsenal’s victory not only secured their place in the Champions League final but also equalled the club’s record for most wins in a single season across all competitions, matching the 41 achieved in the 1970/71 double-winning campaign.

They become the fifth different English side to reach the Champions League final in the last eight seasons, joining Liverpool, Tottenham, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Saka’s contribution has been pivotal, with the forward directly involved in 14 goals in 14 Champions League appearances at the Emirates Stadium — nine goals and five assists, underlining his status as one of the competition’s standout performers.
