Salah Overtakes Osimhen to Set New Süper Lig Market Value Record

Trabzonspor’s blockbuster signing of Mohamed Salah has rewritten Turkish football history, with the Egyptian superstar becoming the highest-valued player ever to play in the Turkish Süper Lig.

Salah, whose move to Trabzonspor is set to be completed after the club announced it had reached an agreement with the former Liverpool forward, boasts a peak market value of €150 million, according to historical Transfermarkt data.

That figure eclipses the previous Süper Lig record of €120 million held by Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.

The transfer marks another major statement of intent by Trabzonspor during the summer transfer window, with Salah expected to arrive in Türkiye to complete the final formalities before joining his new teammates.

Salah’s arrival also reshuffles the list of the most valuable players ever to feature in the Süper Lig.

Osimhen, who topped the rankings following his move to Galatasaray, now drops to second place, while N’Golo Kanté, Mauro Icardi, Leroy Sané and Dele Alli share third with peak market values of €100 million each.

Rounding out the top 10 are Marco Asensio and Arda Güler at €90 million, Nicolas Pépé at €75 million and Miralem Pjanić at €70 million.

The rankings are based on players’ highest historical market values recorded by Transfermarkt rather than their transfer fees.
