Defender nets for Arsenal in 3-1 defeat of Burnley at Emirates stadium

William Saliba netted his third Premier League goal in his 39th appearance for Arsenal in their 3-1 defeat of Burnley Saturday at the Emirates stadium.

The goal restored Arsenal’s advantage after Josh Brownhill cancelled Leandro Trossard’s first half opener.

An elated Saliba believes he will score more goals for the Gunners from his centre half position.

‘We are so happy to win today because it wasn’t an easy game against a really good team. It was important to win because we lost last week. This is only the
beginning, I’ll score more I hope,’ he said after the game.

The 22 year old scored his first Premier League goal in only his third appearance in the competition, netting the third goal in Arsenal’s 3-0 defeat of
Bournemouth at the Vitality stadium in August 2022.

The Frenchman netted his second in the competition four games after his first and also away from the Emirates stadium.

He scored Arsenal’s opening goal in another 3-0 victory at the Gtech Community Stadium against Brentford.

His goal against Burnley, another team whose name starts with a ‘B’ is his first at the Emirates stadium and the Gunners also netted three times.
