Spalletti Backs Osimhen to Revive Napoli Champions League Hopes

Napoli coach, Luciano Spalletti is confident the return of Victor Osimhen will give his side the confidence to overturn their 1-0 defeat in the first leg of
their quarterfinal tie versus AC Milan.

The 24 year old made his return from injury in the Partenopei’s Serie A game against Hellas Verona on Saturday, coming on for 25 minutes of the
eventual 0-0 draw.

Spaletti was not oblivious of the Nigerian’s influence when he came in for the last 25 minutes of the game against Hellas Verona, with the crossbar denying him his 22nd Serie A goal.

‘He gave that burst of enthusiasm that our fans rightly attribute to him by now and he immediately showed that he was in the game. He needed these 25 minutes
of running to be ready to play on Tuesday. It’s clear that we will also see the players in training,’ Spaletti told Radio Kiss Kiss.

Osimhen scored three of his side’s five goals in the round of 16 against German side, Eintracht Frankfurt to help the Partenopei secure their first quarter-
final qualification and will be the cynosure of all eyes on Tuesday night as the club hopes to secure another historic qualification.

The Nigerian has scored 25 times in 30 games for Napoli across all competitons this season and his 21 in 24 Serie A games has put the club in the best position to win their first Scudetto in 33 years.
