Sports Minister, Dare Inaugurates Sub Committees To Drive Delta 2022 National Sports Festival

The Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare has inaugurated 14 operational Sub-committees under the Main Organising Committee (MOC) of the National Sports Festival tagged *”Delta 2022″* with a view to ensuring successful planning and participation at the 21st edition of the Games.

Dare who inaugurated the Sub-Committees today in his office at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, called on members of the newly inaugurated Sub-committees to put in their best towards ensuring a successful hosting and hitch free National Sports Festival.

The Minister who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and Chairman, Main Organising Committee (MOC), Alhaji Ismaila Abubakar, expressed optimism that with the calibre of people nominated to serve on the various Sub-Committees, the 21st National Sports Festival will no doubt, be a success story for Nigerians.

He stated further that members of the Sub-Committees were painstakingly selected on the basis of competence, relevant experience and exposure in order to ensure maximum planning, coordination and hitch free games.

The Minister charged the members to bring their wealth of experience to bear in the planning of the event so as to meet the hopes of sports loving Nigerians on the competition.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the Secretary of the MOC and Director, National Sports Festival and Para Sports Department,
(NSF & PS), Mr. Peter Nelson stated that the inauguration of the Sub Committees marks the commencement of practical actions on the competition

He charged members to immediately swing into action by taking bold steps that will make Asaba 2022 an unforgettable experience in the history of sports in the country.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairmen of the Sub -Committees, the Chairman, Protocol Sub- Committee and Director, Special Duties in the Ministry, Mr. Abumere Akhidenor expressed the Sub-Committees’ commitment to ensuring a successful outing at the competition

He thanked the Ministry’s management for the confidence reposed in them and assured that they will deploy their wealth of experience and expertise towards making Delta 2022, a memorable experiencer next year’s FIFA World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand.
