Stunning Scissor-Kick Goal Earns Onuachu Turkish Super Lig Goal of the Season Award
Trabzonspor forward Paul Onuachu has been named winner of the Turkish Super Lig Goal of the Season Award for his spectacular scissor-kick strike against Fatih Karagumruk last September.
The Nigerian striker’s acrobatic effort, which sealed a 4-2 victory for the Black Sea Storm, had earlier been voted Goal of the Month and went on to beat competition from Marco Asensio of Fenerbahce and Orkun Kokcu of Beşiktaş to claim the top honor.
The award crowns a remarkable full debut campaign for Onuachu, who joined Trabzonspor from Southampton last summer. He finished as the league’s joint-top scorer with 22 goals, sharing the Golden Boot with İstanbul Başakşehir’s Eldor Shomurodov.
Across all competitions, the 31-year-old registered 26 goals and two assists in 43 appearances, playing a pivotal role in Trabzonspor’s success. His impact was most decisive in the Turkish Cup final, where he scored both goals in a 2-1 victory over Konyaspor, securing the club’s record-extending 10th triumph in the competition.
