Stuttgart and Augsburg have expressed interest to sign Onuachu

Two Bundesliga clubs, Stuttgart and Augsburg have expressed an interest to sign Southampton striker Paul Onuachu, according to Sky Germany.

Both clubs are understood to have enquired about the striker’s availability due to Southampton’s relegation from the Premier League.

Sky Germany also reports that both sides may face a stumbling block due to Onuachu’s wage demands which are believed to be around €1.5m per net.

Borussia Mönchengladbach could also enter into the race to sign the Nigerian forward, however, there has been no approach made.

Onuachu has made his desire to leave Southampton clear this summer and the Bundesliga appears to be his most likely destination.

Last season the 29-year-old featured eleven times for the Saints in the Premier League, but he failed to register a single goal or assist as the side were relegated to the Championship alongside Leeds United and Leicester City.

However, during a three-and-a-half-year spell with Genk in Belgium, Onuachu scored 85 goals in 134 appearances. He netted 16 times in 19 games in the first half of last season for Genk before his winter transfer to the Premier League.
