Ta Lou: I know it will take more than 10.75 to win in Budapest

African 100m record holder (10.72), Marie-Josée Ta Lou says it will take more than the 10.75 she ran to win her fourth 100m race in the Diamond League this
season if she is desirous of turning the silver medal she won in 2017 to gold seven years after.

The 34 year old surged past British girl, Dina Asher-Smith with about 40 metres to go in the race at the London stadium to win the race at 10.75.

Asher-Smith was second in 10.85 with world leader (10.65), Shericka Jackson third in 10.94.

Only Jackson and Shar’ Carri Richardson have run faster than the Ivorian so far this year but the two time World Championships silver medalist is not unaware
of the battle that lies ahead at the Budapest World Championships.

‘Today has been so great – I was not feeling my best at first, but I’ve been listening to everything my coach has told me and I won.

I hope to go back and train even harder for Budapest because I know it will take more to win there, so I’ll just fix up on a few small things. I know my
finish is strong but my start could be better and I need to improve it to make sure I can achieve my goal of winning gold,’ she said post race.

It was fourth win in the four Diamond League races she has participated in so far this year and expectedly tops the 100m rankings with the maximum 32 points following wins in Florence, Italy; Oslo, Norway, Silesia in Poland and London.
