Toroğlu: Onuachu Better Than Osimhen

Veteran Turkish football pundit Erman Toroğlu has stirred debate after declaring that Paul Onuachu is better than Victor Osimhen.

Onuachu has been in sensational form for Trabzonspor this season, scoring 15 goals in 18 Turkish Super Lig matches, including four in his last three outings.

His brace against Samsunspor over the weekend not only secured Trabzonspor’s 13th win of the campaign but also etched his name in history as the first foreign player to score in both league meetings against Samsunspor in a single Süper Lig season.

The Nigerian striker had earlier found the net in the 1-1 draw at Papara Park last August, further underlining his consistency.

Meanwhile, Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray, has had a slower start domestically but has impressed in the UEFA Champions League. The former African Footballer of the Year has scored nine goals in 15 league appearances, including strikes in his last three matches since returning from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

His tally of 52 goals makes him the fourth-highest scoring foreigner in Galatasaray’s history.

Comparing the two Super Eagles forwards, Toroğlu praised Onuachu’s technical qualities.

‘He’s the second best player in Nigeria after Osimhen. Onuachu’s shooting technique is better than Osimhen’s. His through balls are better than Osimhen’s. His body feints are also better than Osimhen’s,’ he said, according to habersarikirmizi.com.

While acknowledging Osimhen’s superior pace, Toroğlu highlighted Onuachu’s surprising agility despite his towering frame.

‘Osimhen is faster in terms of speed, but despite his height, Onuachu’s mobility is truly incredible,’ he added.
