Uli Hoeness insists: Bayern Munich won’t pay €180m for Osimhen

Bayern Munich’s honorary President Uli Hoeness confirms the Bavarians are looking to sign a striker but insists the club won’t pay €180m for Victor Osimhen.

‘Bayern Munich don’t go along with that if the numbers of up to €180m are correct,’ Hoeness told t-online.de.

‘I don’t know the exact budget, but there’s a lot of speculation about that. One thing is for sure: no matter what it ends up being, signing a top striker will be expensive.

Hoeness believes Tottenham Hotspur striker, Harry Kane will be the ideal man for Bayern Munich with Osimhen his preferred second choice albeit he believes Frenchman, Randal Kolo Muani is also a good centre forward.

‘These [Kolo Muani and Osimhen] are both excellent strikers, even if both are 24 years old. Osimhen is a bit further because he has been playing in a top league for a long time. Bayern can plan ahead for a decade with any of them. Osimhen has a bit more experience,’ he said.

Osimhen has been one of the most sought after forwards this year after scoring 26 goals in 32 games to inspire Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years.

The Nigerian also emerged the first African to finish a Serie A season as top scorer.
