Villarreal Vs Valencia: Chukwueze seeks first LaLiga goal since December 2021
Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze will be looking to score his first goal for Villarreal in four months in the Spanish LaLiga when his side host Valencia at the Estadio de la Ceramica on Tuesday.
Chukwueze last scored for the Yellow Submarines in the league against Real Sociedad back in December 18, 2021, in which his side ran away 1-3 winners.
The 22-year-old has made 30 appearances for Villarreal in all competitions this season, scoring six goals in total; two each in the league, Copa Del Rey and Champions League.
Goals have not been coming the Nigerian’s way this year, and has only registered three assists in 10 league matches in 2022. However, he is set to equal or surpass his best scoring season for the club, which was in the 2018/19 campaign, in which he netted eight times.
He will also be targeting his first ever goal against Valencia as he has never scored or registered an assist against them in eight games across all competitions.
If he plays tonight, he will takehis total appearances to nine against the visitors, the most he has featured against any club in Spain since 2018 when he made his senior debut for Villarreal.
Since his first league game for the club against Levante in 2018, Chukwueze has made 152 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals.
