Wolves 0-2 Arsenal: Odegaard says ‘there’s a long way to go in the Premier League title race’

Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard says there is still a long way to go in the Premier League title race after leading the Gunners to a 2-0 win at the Molineux against their host, Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Odegaard scored the Gunners’ second goal in the last minute of the game to send Mikel Arteta’s men back to the top of the Premier League, for 24 hours at least.

‘A massive win for us in a tough week. It’s been a hard week emotionally for us and today was all about bouncing back and getting the result. There’s a long way to go in the title race, it’s still very tight, and it’s just about taking each result as it comes,’ Odegaard said in his post match comment.

Since the start of last season, only Erling Haaland (27), Mohamed Salah (26) and Ollie Watkins (24) have been involved in more Premier League goals away from home than Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard (23 – 14 goals, 9 assists). Indeed, his goal was his 50th goal involvement in the competition (31 goals, 19 assists).

Leandro Trossard, who scored Arsenal’s first goal also believes nothing has been decided yet and revealed they needed to bounce back from back-to-back defeats by Aston Villa and Bayern.

“We wanted a response for ourselves. We has such a great win before last week and it has been a tough two games. The response was brilliant today. All we can do is win our own games and focus on ourselves,’ he told BBC Sport.
