Xabi Alonso Eyes Osimhen as First Stamford Bridge Signing

Chelsea are actively exploring a move for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, with intermediaries holding conversations as incoming manager Xabi Alonso prepares for his first transfer window at Stamford Bridge.

Osimhen, 27, has enjoyed another prolific season in Turkey, scoring 22 goals in 29 starts and reinforcing his reputation as one of the most feared centre-forwards in world football.

Galatasaray remain determined to keep their star forward but sources indicate they would demand a fee of around €100m (£87.1m) to sanction a transfer.

TEAMtalk reports that intermediaries have begun presenting Osimhen’s profile to Europe’s elite clubs, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea all monitoring developments.

Barcelona view him as a potential successor to Robert Lewandowski, while Madrid are considering him as part of their attacking rebuild under the expected arrival of José Mourinho.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have long admired Osimhen and see him as a realistic target despite the absence of Champions League football next season.

The club’s need for a proven number nine remains clear, and Alonso’s appointment is believed to enhance the attractiveness of the project.

TEAMtalk sources suggest his tactical vision and long-term ambitions could help persuade Osimhen to choose Stamford Bridge over rival suitors.
