Ajibade, Ucheibe Among Early Arrivals as Super Falcons Train in Cameroon

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, forward Gift Monday, Christy Ucheibe and eight other players have joined the Super Falcons camp in Yaoundé ahead of their double-header friendly against Cameroon.

Team media officer Mary Akinsola confirmed that training began at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo on Wednesday evening as more players continued to arrive.

Among those already in camp are Canada-based Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene, Israeli-based Glory Ogbonna, Nottingham Forest’s Joy Omewa, Madrid-based Esther Onyenezide, Fatima Okolo of Abia Angels, Favour Nkwocha of FC Robo, Tanzania-based Precious Christopher, and Oluwatosin Demehin of Galatasaray in Turkey.

The friendlies will be played on Saturday and Tuesday, March 3, both in Yaoundé, serving as preparation for the 13th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), which runs from March 13 to April 3, 2026.

All four semi-finalists at WAFCON will qualify directly for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil next year.
