Atalanta slash Lookman valuation as January interest grows

Atalanta are reconsidering their stance on Ademola Lookman ahead of the January transfer window, with the club prepared to lower their asking price for the Nigerian forward.

The Bergamo outfit rejected bids worth €50m during the summer, but Lookman’s public frustration and subsequent dip in form have complicated matters. His struggles have mirrored Atalanta’s own decline, culminating in the dismissal of Ivan Juric.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the club hierarchy hopes Lookman can rediscover his spark under new coach Raffaele Palladino. Yet if his performances fail to improve, a mid-season sale remains firmly on the table.

Both Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, who attempted to sign him in the offseason, are monitoring the situation closely.

Galatasaray, however, are believed to be leading the chase, having already offered a lucrative €9m-a-year contract to Lookman’s representatives.

Crucially, Atalanta are now willing to drop their valuation from the original €50m, opening the door for negotiations when the market reopens.
