Boniface and Rashford set to finish as 2022/23 Europa League top scorer

Nigerian may edge Man United forward due to number of assists provided

Union Saint-Gilloise Nigerian striker Victor Boniface and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford remain at the top of the 2022/23 UEFA Europa League goalscorers rankings, though both of their clubs have been eliminated from the competition.

Boniface and Rashford lead the way with six goals though neither will be appearing in the final. Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini and Paulo Dybala, and Sevilla’s
Youssef En-Nesyri are the top scorers of the sides through to the final with four goals each.

Boniface and Rashford will be watching Wednesday night’s final to see if they could be supplanted as the competition’s top scorer.

If he emerges as top scorer, Boniface will become the second Nigerian in two straight seasons to end a European club competition as the goleador after
Feyenoord’s Cyriel Dessers who emerged as the first ever top scorer in the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League last season.

Dessers finished as top scorer after netting 10 goals.
