Okoye Matches Enyeama’s Record with Historic Clean Sheet

Maduka Okoye has etched his name into Nigerian football history after equaling his best-ever clean sheet tally in Udinese’s 2-0 victory over Cagliari in Serie A last Saturday.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper became the first Nigerian shot-stopper in 11 years to record 10 clean sheets in a single season across Europe’s top five leagues.

The last to achieve the feat was Vincent Enyeama, who set a benchmark with 17 clean sheets for Lille during the 2014/15 Ligue 1 campaign.

Okoye’s commanding display at the Unipol Domus ensured Udinese’s survival push remained on track.

He made three crucial saves from five shots on target, including a spectacular fingertip stop in the first half that kept the scores level before his side took control.
