‘Salah Approved the Transfer’: Besiktas President Makes Stunning Claim

Beşiktaş president Serdal Adalı has claimed that Mohamed Salah personally approved a potential move to the Turkish club before negotiations broke down over increased financial demands from the player’s representative.

Speaking to the Qatari press, Adalı said the Liverpool star had held individual meetings with Beşiktaş head coach Vincenzo Italiano and the club’s sporting director before giving his approval to the proposed transfer.

However, the Beşiktaş president claimed the situation changed after reports emerged that the deal was close to completion, with Salah’s agent allegedly increasing his financial demands and requesting a 35 per cent commission.

‘Mohamed Salah personally met with both Vincenzo Italiano and our sporting director and approved the transfer,’ Adalı said.

‘However, later, as soon as the news that ‘the transfer is over’ started to appear in the press, his agent increased his financial demands. The manager increased his own commission to an incredible 35 per cent.

‘From our point of view, such a percentage is unacceptable under any circumstances. We do not think that Salah is aware of these figures.’
