Emmanuel Dennis Returns to Brondby First-Team Fold

Nigerian forward Emmanuel Dennis has returned to the Brondby first-team setup after being left out in recent weeks, with head coach Thomas Norgaard confirming that he is now competing on equal terms with the rest of the squad.

Dennis made his unofficial return on Friday, coming on for the final 30 minutes of Brondby’s training match against Swedish side IK Sirius at Vestegnen.

The 28-year-old had previously trained individually while exploring a possible move away from the Danish club during the transfer window.

According to Norgaard, Dennis completed a rehabilitation programme designed to give him the individual work he needed before returning to full team training.

‘He did the things he needed to do on the rehabilitation course we had sent him on,’ Norgaard told reporters.

‘Now he is here. He is back, training like the others and making an effort. Today he had reached a point where he could get 30 minutes.’

Norgaard, however, admitted Dennis still has work to do to fully adapt to Brondby’s tactical principles after spending considerable time away from the group.

‘I shouted a little at him, mostly to get him to be part of the team context. There is no doubt that he is an individualist who has been away a lot,’ he said.

Dennis joined Brondby in January after spending six months without a club following his departure from Nottingham Forest.

The former Club Brugge, Watford and FC Koln forward signed a contract running until 2028 but has struggled to make an impact, scoring just once in 11 official appearances for the Danish side.
