Iheanacho set for 170th appearance for Leicester City

Kelechi Iheanacho will make his 170th appearance for Leicester City Wednesday evening if he plays against Norwich City in a Premier League clash at the King Power stadium.

The 25 year old Nigerian joined the Foxes in August 2017 from Manchester City and has featured for Brendan Rodgers side in 121 Premier League games, scoring 25 times and bagged 18 assists.

He scored thrice and provided seven assists in 11 Europa League games. He also made seven appearances, scoring once and bagged one assist in his maiden appearance in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

The Nigerian featured in one Community Shield for the Foxes, scoring the only goal of the game in a 1-0 defeat of his former club, Manchester City at Webley stadium in August 2021.

In the FA and EFL Cups, the Nigerian featured 29 times for the club, scoring 10 times in 15 appearances in the former and seven times in 14 games in the latter.

This season, Iheanacho has scored four times in 24 appearances in the Premier League for the Foxes. None of the four goals has been scored at the King Power stadium and the Nigerian has a chance to do just that against already relegated Norwich Wednesday evening.

If he scores, it will his fifth of the season, 38 in 168 appearances in the competiton since he made his debut in August 2015 and second in seven Premier League games against visiting Norwich City.

Iheanacho is currently fifth in the Nigerian all-time scoring list in the Premier League behind Yakubu Aiyegbeni (95), Kanu Nwankwo (54), Efan Ekoku (52) and Shola Ameobi (43).

In terms of appearance, he will remain in 10th position, 11 games adrift of Celestine Babayaro and Alex Iwobi in joint eighth.

Iheanacho ranks 12th (6,645) in terms of minutes played in the history of the competition with former Chelsea player, Mikel Obi topping with 16,228 minutes while Wilfred Ndidi (14,191) and Victor Moses (3,392) rank second and third respectively.
